How do I keep my hair dry?

Seriously, I have dreads long enough to nearly sit on. Too bulky to tuck inside my jacket and they'd dangle out the hem anyway. How do I keep the rain off?If you've never had dreads, they are extremely heavy when they are wet.

Marketing op; Sew up a dread sleeve the perhaps attaches to the helmet or as a skull cap to hold it in place.

I may well do just this, but what to make it out of? Have seen the small lace up leather wraps that HD sells, but with the length I have, it'd take all flippin' day to get dressed! and there is NO ROOM in my lid for anything else so a skull cap is not a go. I already had to upsize once.

Cutting them off is not an option I'm willing to consider peoples...
