What is the Christchurch connection ... if any?

What is the Christchurch connection with this list of world events?: http://blog.imva.info/climate/volcanic-eruptions

Follow the links and see some fantastic/interesting pics and videos, do what you will with the other BS, to each his own!

Simple, he [imdying] didn't read the post before reacting!

Comments with red bling:[ "Dr" Circus is a confirmed nut job, been posted before ]

No problem with that but that is not why I posted the Blog, it was for the pictures of all the volcanoes and the fact that they are all around the "Pacific rim of fire" and questioned whether or not there could be a link to the current Christchurch earthquakes!

I even suggested ignoring the other bullshit in the blog!

He gave me another "red" for complaining

I've just spent 24 hours in Christchurch to attend some meetings. There was a couple of 4+ shakes during a meeting yesterday afternoon - the Christchurch folk didn't bat an eyelid - the rest of us were edging for the doorway and tables...

Kudos to you guys - living with that on a daily basis (while waiting for the next big one) is no small thing.

My natural instinct to "rubber-neck" at the damage while travelling though town was very quickly replaced with a revulsion and deep sadness. What a mess...

Can't say I noticed them either but it does depend on what you're doing, one of our guys didn't even notice the 5+ on Monday

Well my old Mum must have a guardian angel, apart from spending 6 weeks in WA during March/April she's gotten back to earthquake central & has had yet experience sitting in a chair with crap flying around her.
At some stage I'm going to have to come back to help her shift to wherever she's going to go. Don't want to just have to...

Is there any map that shows the effects of the quakes? i.e. changes in elevation, movement of land in any particular direction and by how much.

'Cos by now there must be SOME noticable change in the lay-out around Ch-ch

There was one good one I saw for the Feb quake - showed the epicentre and ground movements - looked sort of like a big pimple focussed on the epicentre - but unfortunately I didn't save it, and I can't find now

Ta jim, there is no legend with that chart?

Anyway, I was more looking for figures such as "Merrivale is now XXX metres further north from Sumner than it was prior to the 'quake" or "Halswell is now xxx metre higher in elevation than it use to be" type of stuff.

WYSIS-MOL-WYG = What you see is more or less what you get

The contours show vertical movement in mm

So Avonside is down 150 (6" in old speak)

Port Hills is up 470 mm
