As averse as I am to getting involved in the organising of anything.......

How set are people on the idea of Nelson-ish?

I may have another option more central, I'll check it out tonight with a friend of the owners and see if it's viable, if anybody is interested.

If not, carry on as you were.

If going all the way Takaka is being considered as an option Nelson (my old home town) has to be a consideration, providing you can find a quiet spot in an overcrowded retirement centre. Maybe Jen (alias Roadsafe/MyGSXF) could assist here?

I have just been on the phone with them and they are more than happy for a group of people who ride motorbikes ( I didn't use the word "bikies"

) to invade the place
They have beds for about 34 and a camp ground attached. The lady I spoke to said they don't mind if things get a little rowdy either

and at this stage they have no bookings for the first or second weekend in December.

Thoughts......

I do love that idea...and then all get to play on my playground

My sister who lives in Collingwood suggested something called "Bethany Camp"near Kaiteretere? Does anyone know anything about this?

Remembering of course that the 1st SI Camp we "roughed" it out in Shearing Quarters. And that was huge fun.
