I'm no gynaecologist, however I would be happy to take a look......................
Hi Clint
Great to sign in for this ride again, look forward to the white icicle early start on the Sat and meeting MMMMMM team again. Will take the Cool Team approach on the 800 GS. May have a couple of mates also will confirm soon.

Apologies but I won't be joining the MMMM this year. However I have a suggestion for any Cool Team riders who can get to Rangitaiki tavern early on Friday arvo. That is to ride (legit) in the Rangitaiki conservation area, the access track is 2.5 km east of the tavern.
The pumice based tracks are easy going and you find some interesting terrain to play on. Rogerh and I were trailriding here at queens birthday. There is a 35km loop but the far end (spot track 3) is too difficult for most adventure bikes (dare I say)And you will need to caculate on using extra fuel.
Cheers Andy

Looks like we're heading for a good turnout
I'm planning on doing a pre ride next weekend & writing up a routesheet for the Minginui-Matawai section, to give people the option of some more backroads & to let everyone do their own pace. So if you don't have a 'lunchbox' routesheet holder get or make one, or bring some A4 ziplock bags to put the instructions in. It will not be a complicated route, it's all public roads. Watch this space next Monday for a copy of the routesheet.
Cheers

Looking forward to getting the routesheets, I'll be ziplocking 'em. I may be upgrading to a DR650 next week, so could be a good opportunity to see how it goes.
I've put my name down but thought I'd let you know my partners bringing her bike as well...both cool team. Will have to blow some of that red ozzie dust off our TK's and fit em back up to the beemers. We'll be trailering to your place on the friday round lunch time and riding down to the pub.![]()
Mad Dad - the session in your garage pays off eh

Hi Clint
Another rider to join us Dilligaf has yet to register on KB. Please add his name to your list have organised accom logistics. A warm rider where do they go from overnight at Rangataiki, any official route to the join up at 9.30 am Sat?
Kev
Sorry team, I am out.![]()
Here ya go, PRINT THIS OUT! BRING IT! READ THE NOTES!
If you are coming with mates that aren't on KB or might not see this, print them out a copy too.
All the turns in the route sheet are signposted intersections so it should be easy to follow. I have given all the road names so it should be easy to go through & load up a route with all the turns to your GPS if you have one.
Leaving my place 1pm Friday for the trip to Rangitaiki via Minginui & the 1st part of the course in reverse if anyone wants to join in. You will need about 240km fuel range for this bit as we need to get from Murupara - Rangitaiki & back through to Waikaremoana on a tank.
Parts of the Waikaremoana Rd were quite slippy so those with less experience or on bigger bikes will enjoy this section much more if they have tyres with some degree of knobbyness.
Cheers

I need someone to go tail end charlie for the forest section on Saturday. Anybody? If you don't have a hi-vis vest I'll bring one for you. To avoid confusion I'd also like to ask that nobody else wears hi-vis for this section, you can put it back on at Minginui where the routesheeted section starts.
Also, if there is anyone that has some mechanical & tyre changing skill & tools, and enjoys doing a sedate pace you are welcome to apply for the job of sweep rider for a section or 2 - Minginui to Waikaremoana Camp, there to Tiniroto, & Tiniroto to Matawai. I don't mind doing it if nobody else is keen.
There will be no sweep for those heading into Wairoa on routesheet option (1). The sweep rider will be leaving the Tiniroto Pub at 3pm. Be gone by then if you want to be swept.
Cheers

For those warm souls who will be staying in Rotorua on Friday night: Shall we get together for food and beverages?
I'm happy to host a beer and pizza evening at my place, or we can meet up somewhere in town. Let me know the preferred option, and we will come up with a plan.
On Saturday morning we'll meet at BP Geyser at the southern end of Fenton Street (the wide street with all the motels on it) at 8am, ready to depart before 8.15. From there we'll just be following the highway to Minginui (SH5 to Rainbow Mountain, then SH 38 from there).
The road to hell is paved...
