    Biker down - Auckland (15 July 2011)

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/5288...wo-in-Auckland

    More detailed (location) media report:
    http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/moto...ckland-4305958

"In a second accident, a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car in Penrose this morning, a Fire Service spokesman said."

I heard about it on the radio this morning, they were seeking witnesses.

    Very sad to hear.

was reading it on the net, if they're looking for witness, means the M/C has been blamed

I had assumed the car was missing. But it doesn't say that anywhere, so maybe they do believe the biker is to blame.

Sorry to hear of the death of a motorcyclist.

I wonder if KB is capable of showing some respect for the dead this time????????

Very sad. It always saddens me when I hear of a biker crashing, even if it's their own fault, because to me everyone on two wheels is a kind of kin.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

Very sad. Could be any number of reasons. The roads are treacherous out there, even in my car the Traction Control kicked in on a roundabout and I certainly wasn't driving hard! The roads can be like ice and the outside temp was only 8 degrees at 9:30am!

Yeah the iced roads are very daunting, I experienced my first ever loss of traction due to a slippery road surface the other week. I was riding in a perfectly straight line when I felt and heard my back wheel spin faster than the bike was traveling.

not necessarily! looking at the photo supplied in the herald, it looks like the car has tried to turn in the side road and has cut in front of the motorcyclist.

The cops will want an independant witness other than the car driver to find out what happened...

Looks like the car turned in front of the m/c to me as well. No point speculating though I guess.
