Where are all the pre-2007 Hornet 600/599s?

Still thinking about this. Many reviews I have read have rated the 600 higher than the 900 (not against each other however). Tough call.

Yeah definitely saw that one, I hear the post 2000 17" front wheels are much better though.

That is essentially the call, cheaper everything and lighter, vs that little bit extra power. Is it necessary?

Get the 900.
The 600 is pretty pointless - the 900 is physically about the same size, close to the same weight but has a whack of midrange grunt the 600 could only dream about. Plus it adds at least an inch to the length of you dick over the 600 when the office girl asks what you ride

Love my 900 - great basic platform to modify the bike to your desire .....

And I don't consider myself a old man yet!

Being slightly biased, being a Hornet owner - it seems like you are basing your choice on running costs so a 600 is the goer. As mentioned by Gremlin, 900 Hornets have a plethora of spares and yet, they are so reliable they rarely do need them.

They cover a lot of all areas in a bike, thus being the classic "Jack of all trades" - for most riders it seems to be underwhelming. For those who have owned or own them, they know exactly what sort of bike they are. They are under-rated, yet hold their price incredibly well in the 2nd hand market. The later models perversely keeps the older model prices well down and affordable for those entering the market for that classic big, reliable bike.

It was a bike built on a budget, Honda did such a great job putting it together it just sneaks in under the radar for most riders who discount them out of contention.

250, 600, 900... End of the day its a HORNET! You buy one and you'll be the happiest prick around!

But let us not forget that the questions is why are there not so many on the market anymore... I dont have an answer to that but its probably because all the people that own them dont want to sell them because they love the shit out of them...?
