Won't be able to make the 6th due to work but looks like a good loop. Is the bit between Cheviot and Culverden open all the time or do you need permison from farmers to cross their land?

Nice, though I did expect to see myself reaching for the ground in slow motion somewhere there.
May yet upload a verson myself.
Had to laugh as my experiment using the same muilty camera footage looks quite similar having made cuts in pretty similar places to you again.

All of the route fro Cheviot to Culverden is public road. Random spur Rd from Brophys Rd to Kaiwara Rd is a dirt road and not the easiest to follow but it is a public road. Kaiwara Rd is a gravel rd but had lots of gates to open.

Yea, methinks both of us using the same footage, and experimenting with similar programs, with similar ideas, we're going to get some crossover huh?

I think that neither of us caught the others fall on camera. We were just out of range of the camera when it happened.
Personally, I planned it that way

    Yea right ...

I do, however, think we could get a great "Transalper" promo reel from the footage. We could make it look like you have a camera crew in front and behind as well as get your POV with no one out in front ...

Or are we just trying to get too fancy?

    Post CCC Ride details

I was talking to a couple of farmers about access for the return to Chch leg of the CCC loop today and its a no go cause of lambing. So to spice things up a little I've changed the route. Topo with the route shown below.

It seems I can't attach a gps file (garmin gdb) so for those that want an auto routing file for a Garmin GPS send me an email or a PM with your email address.

Meet at the Peg (Speights Pub at the Belfast end of Motorway) at 9.30. Departure at 0945. If your not at the Peg by 9.45, our first stop will be at Motunau.

    Cheers R

It'll be a bit chilly and overcast in the morning but not raining, good day for a ride!
15 deg later, not too shabby!

C'mon out and bring the 350! I can't be the only one ...

I am, unfortunately, out for tomorrow. The tax man is screwing me for $80 a week until April next year, for unpaid tax.

It was a screw up at my old job when they paid out my holiday pay.

Needless to say I am very strapped for cash and just can't afford a trip out on the bike tomorrow.

Hopefully when I sell my car and a bike I'll be able to join in the fun once more.

Yeap, great fun, thanks to everyone! Nice to meet some new people and put some faces to the names.
Special thanks to Rene and TA for keeping an eye on me down the back and making sure I didn't fall off too much!

Wasn't too sure if all the faffing about with cameras would be worth it and having skipped through the footage, I'm still not convinced but there should be some usable bits in there ... Will be keen to see everyone else's videos/pics.

I skipped out of the last bit and headed home along the motorway after you'd all turned off to do the last little dirt road bit. Going by how bloomin sore I am, I think it was a wise move!
My arms are killing me and, for some reason, so is the ball of my right foot. Maybe it's from putting it down whilst in the middle of my almost-barney on one of those hills. Bike really didn't want to turn on the gravel and almost went into the edge, put my foot down out of reflex. I think TA should have some good footage of that ...

    Good fun, cheers folks!
