Yep, just I'd assume this encouragment and engagement applies to the fellow enthusiats with WOF'd and reg'd bikes and educating them to their responsibilities when using legal access roads to ride legally on the beach and surrounding areas. And not that they will politely inform some knuckle-dragger on a clapped out old RM250 that he shouldn't be wheelying through some tussock area because of nesting birds, who will instead be encouraged and educated through warnings, fines and tresspass notices...
I see. The times I've been there we didn't take the beach car park or Rimmer road, but some other way with a hidden away little house and lake? The people were sweet about it though. I've also never seen scary signs or anything of the like...
Creeps, anyone know what the fines are then?
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.
I assume you would get fines for being an unregistered unwarranted vehicle which is about $200 a piece. I'm sure the military can do a bit more like impounding your bike and arresting you.
Then Hancock forest management can trespass notice you which means you can't go to the bike park for 2 years or do any events at woodhill fullstop.
I have noticed the 4wds really cain the crap out of the whole place and that's probably not really good for the environment.
Plus add some redneck hunters with trigger happy fingers and it's quite the recipe for disaster.
I would think it's well policed on the weekends otherwise the Armed forces would be using it during the weekdays.
It would be good to have the odd trailride that went up that far. Jolly Rooster is an awesome ride up in that area.
I think there is a ride coming up at the end of October 2 days up at south head with overnight camping etc. Sounds fun.
I think you find they are called poachers and they are just as bad. The hunting up there is all balloted. It still does not stop riders entering the hunting blocks.
I had just shot a deer and some fucktard comes flying around the corner see's us and fucks off real quick. My bullets go straight through a little deer like that and he wood have been very close to the firing line but it would have still been my fault if he got hit.
Mind you he was by himself and it easy to dig a bullet out and the pigs would clean it up PDQ.
Ive had some of my best rides up at the bombing range if the wind/weather has been good, if you no were the right spots are there are some pretty decent jumps to be found its not all riding up & down a sand dune. Even the army boys we have occasionally run across have never cared just ask that we stay away from the areas they are practising there drills.
Its a hell of a lot more fun in the right conditions than riding some gay trails at the sandpit!
