What I learned on this morning's ride

    Learned me some stuff today.

1, When the radio says gale force winds they mean it.

2, Dont ride Scenic Drive in bad weather. Moss on the road.

3, Riding in gale force wind and rain is hard. But not impossible.

    4, I need ear plugs.

5, My CBX is quite cool in its own way. Back in love with it.

6, My Dad is a bike nut. Never knew. He had Triumphs, Ariel, Nortons etc. Told me about racing Jaguars and ending up in ditches etc. Hes in his golden years and its something he never told me about. He dug out some of his old riding gear, wanted me to use it. If he gets a bit better I want to get/hire a cruiser and take him out for a little ride.

    Good day all in all.

Had a wee chuckle over Scenic Dr comment.....other half and I went to Auckland to test ride a c109 Boulevard. We took the wrong lane going west so I suggested we go over scenic drive as I knew him up front wanted to see how the bike cornered after riding the Busa.....all I can say is GULP!!!!!!.
It is entirely possible to teach an old blond new tricks!!!

I know Scenic Dr very well as I grew up around there. But crap in winter.

Another thing, Found all my gear is water proof. My new boots from Cycletreads were mint. Apart from walking on my Dads deck, new boots and wooden deck = me on my arse.

Dunno what you all are talking about greasy winter scenic drive is fantastic.
Sorts the bikers from the pussies.

I hate getting stuck behind the Sunday patrol or the local BMW rider up there though.

Nah your still green is all.
Pussies usually ride bikes over 400cc and hold up traffic.

To be honest I don't have any problem with the pussies provide they pull over and let the rest of us go. Unfortunately some bikers and drivers alike seem to like being as arsehole. A good ride on scenic can turn to frustrating hell if your stuck behind some moron for 2km of fantastic corners.
Totally ruins my Feng Sui for the day.
