nah he's dirty.who cares about k's,but i'd never buy a bike without knowing its year, especially when it looked so new, you'd be a little curious about it.

RM powerband, what a fuckwit.
GOLD love these stories
Still have a dream of starting a national database for off road bikes that pontetial buyers can check against to see if its come up stolen.
Be free for the owner to list it then when its stolen email me the chassis number etc etc then i mark it as dodgy
Then the potential buyer pays a VERY SMALL fee to have me search the database for it.
Simple but have to convince the owners to part with the info.
Please keep us posted on the outcome.
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses
i`am more surprised the ad mentioned it actually runs, judging by his "rm powerband" comment i wonder how he figured out its needs oil in the gas. Its past the 15th i wonder why he hasnt changed the km reading after checking the speedo???

Our conversation so far:
Hi,
After hearing numerous stories of dirt bikes being stolen and having 3 bikes stolen myself I was wondering if you would consider making a compulsary field where the seller has to put the bike serial number. Considering most insurance companies ask for these, most people should know about them anyway. Also ideally these serials would get fed back to the brand reps in NZ to check the seller is providing a legitimate number or even a number that matches that brand and model of bike.

Good to hear you found it, just wondering where they took it from and how they got it! Just picked up a kxf from Mr Motorcycles yesterday and you got me all paranoid now :P Mines chained up in my garage is that enough?
Try to be the person your dog thinks you are
If the scum want it badly enough, they will get it and there's very little you can do about it. However, making it as difficult as possible to remove is definitely not a bad idea and deters the opportunistic thief. Chained up is good, chained to something immovable is better.
Well wonder whats goin on here,he's re-listed it asking for more money,it will probably get sold before the police amble around there.

I hope that the cops can get to this ASAP!!
I sent him a silly email 'cause I'm curious to see if he did that terrible paint job himself.
"Hi,
Are the plastics painted or has it got an aftermarket kit?
What sort of power band has it got?
Cheers"
is it Scott's bike ? untill it checked out its only speculation. if it is great work.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

interesting thread.. curious tho as that person selling that bike has some other pretty large listings. Im guessing the account holder is a female judging from the buyer and sellers feedback....profile is "Jody" and the items which they have purchased and sold seem to be mainly female clothing etc..
.
A person with a house of that price for sale i dont think would risk the consequences of selling a stolen bike for approx $2500 profit unless its being sold on behalf... Also there account isnt exaclty new,it was first registerd in 2003... Those pics of the bike are deffinatly taken at that rothsay bay adress in there other trade me listings judging by the drain pipe in the picture
If it is your bike why not go and view the property they have listed for Sale/Rent and check it out?
Be intersting to see if it is the one your looking for!![]()
Scott is in England right now.
