I was talking with a mechanic about my bike in a local workshop when we were interupted by the sound of a salesman revving the snot out of a bike to excite a potential buyer. Salesman later laughed about giving the punter a hard on with the exhaust sound of the bike while the mechanic was still seething about the abuse to a cold motor with no load. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when there were no customers around.

Reminds me of the time I bought one of my RG250's in for a wof at WMC, there was a young apprentice mechanic there and he and I gave each other mild ribbing when ever we saw each other. He got on my 250 for the test ride and screamed off up the drive and up the road. Steve Dundon went absolutely ballistic at him when he got back. Funny thing was, I did not even care as he was not abusing it anywhere near as much as I did (though I understand it was the principle)

My fist week here and I went past Steve the opposite way on his new GSF1200 demo on one wheel and I expected a right bollocking. But nothing was ever said...and I've not stopped doing it ever since. Think I'm the only member of staff that can get away with it!

    Yes. Yes you are.

Anyway, the OP video guy didn't own that bike, it belonged to a traffic cop that had fucked the dudes wife. Good show I reckon.

That's fair enough though... a demo bike is just bait, and to a certain sector of the market, you're making it bait wrapped in sugar
