Yeah it's some old odd way of working it out. They named most Wolseley's in that manner, they even dragged the 18/85 name back for the 1800 landcrab version

How odd it all was back then my 250cc Honda made more HP than the majority of those wee cars.

Oh pish posh. High HP/cc is not new, I think the record for HP/cc on a pump gas motor still belongs to a Honda 50cc twin from the 60's.

But, you're right I'd still kill for another Morrie

Yup, even side-valve V8s were only rated at 38hp when the factory rating was 95hp.

the family has finally decided to sell the old girl.

1964 Austin Mini (reg Jan 65). I'll check with dad for the mileage when i see him tomorrow but is less than 80 original miles. Completely original, and only 3 owners. Serviced and maintained from 1970 by the same mechanic (dad).

This is the history, it's original owner was a lady who used my dads workshop to service the car until she wasn't able to drive anymore in the early nineties. My father always said to her "when you are no longer able to drive it, he would buy it". That happened in due course and we had the car for about 10 years before selling it to mums sister, who still has it now (so the original owner + 1 family). It's not getting used as much as it should be so it's time to move it on. Lucky you!

That really an original Mini. It's pre-BL farting around with window winders and minor mods.

    I very fine example indeed

I'm about to go 'Unconditional' on a house that is a little more expensive than I was comforable paying. My wife saying "Of course you can have the Jag you really want" now appears to have been no more than a cunning ploy.

Yup, all the good bits! External hinges, proper door handles, sliding windows, gear change straight to the 'box (no remote linkage) the list goes on...

Surely not? I've seen some low-mileage cars, but wow...

Either way, that is one stunning car...
