If it were my money, I'd be taking Geeen up on his offer and giving the demo Gladius a raping too. Mind you, I'd take an SV650 for a hoon too, S and N; their owners seem to love them.

They're reasonably comfy for a sportyish bike, and dirt cheap to boot. OP if you can handle a little pork, then take one of those for a thrash too... another bike the owners seem to like, a lot... GSXR motor, so basically unkillable. Much cheaper to write one of these off.... Forget the smaller ones, they're shit. Ignore that suggestion if you've no control over your right wrist.

Talking of pork, the motor in the RF is the GSXR1100 1127cc destroked to 937cc. 25 lss HP (125), BUT a massive 30kg less weight than the GSXR. Do the sums. Very similar performance and a hell of a lot more chuckable than a gixxer.

Of course the looks are somewhat polarising.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Was looking to get rid of the "training bra" (VL250) and get the "big boys bike". Went looking around Hams at the dealers and there was very few secondhand cruisers around but got talking to Greg Boyd (herein referred to as The Temptor) when he suggested I get my fat arse on a sfv650 to try it. Well I got back and called hima few names under my breath as I didnt expect that I would enjoy a sportier style and have had to broaden my search to include not just cruisers......

Suggestions? But please bear in mind my generous proportions

    Cheers in advance

130kg and 5'10"....you'll look like a drum sitting on a ghey pea

Love the SV650 engine, and had a curvy and a pointy (naked and S versions). Sitting on the Gladius was really low to the ground and not quite what I wanted. Plumped for the V-strom....it has a very generous seat and the seat height is lowish (getting short fat lags over may be a challenge).

BTW I'm a slim 127kgs and 5'10" ......you'll fit a sports bike, but you may need to put rearsets on so your hams and calves aren't permanently in contact and staringin your knees.

    What was the question again?

personally I've nothing against the Gladius, but it does have a reputation of being a girls bike! Is that deserved? probably not!

Not a girls bike but borderline ...had a Gladius ( Though that's a girls name - surely ) as a loaner when I had the 'Busa in for a service .

Had a ball and did'nt wanna give it back , not a bike for me longterm but ...maybe my Mrs.. ?

I thought a Gladius was the short stabbing sword used by the Roman Legion??

Not sure I'd call it a girls bike, more tending toward the effeminate. Especially in the pink/white colour scheme
