    Because they were told that the marshals will deal to any issues and stopping on the track makes it more dangerous (according to some of teh comments).

    Oh wow. Sorry, I read a lot of the comments but obviously didn't see that.

    I thought pulling onto the grass after checking someone wasn't near you would be sufficient.

    Same as in NZ, if something does happen, course control decides if a red flag is necessary. If so, they tell marshals to put it out. All bikes return to pits, marshals deal with the issue. Last thing marshals want is all the bikes stopped on the side of the track, as it's a safety issue in itself.

    Believe it or not mate...some old drum brakes work a treat and are as powerful as!!!

    In fact...they came on too hard at times.
