the family has finally decided to sell the old girl.

1964 Austin Mini (reg Jan 65). I'll check with dad for the mileage when i see him tomorrow but is less than 80 original miles. Completely original, and only 3 owners. Serviced and maintained from 1970 by the same mechanic (dad).

This is the history, it's original owner was a lady who used my dads workshop to service the car until she wasn't able to drive anymore in the early nineties. My father always said to her "when you are no longer able to drive it, he would buy it". That happened in due course and we had the car for about 10 years before selling it to mums sister, who still has it now (so the original owner + 1 family). It's not getting used as much as it should be so it's time to move it on. Lucky you!

    pics to come
    That's a yummy one

That's the model and colour I had but without the vinyl roof. I actually miss it!

It's been touched up on the left front, note how it's discoloured after the B pillar?
    It's neat though, begging for a V8.....

Take a look at it though man

What was your special trick for finding reverse?

The unfortunate result of BMC meeting Leyland....or really Rover,Triumph and Jaguar. BMC had a good strong gearbox, but were made to use the Triumph box for the Marina. It usually worked fine with the A block, but with the B and O engines it was total crap.

The gear box on mine was sweet, as was the 1700cc unit.

The Morris Marina 1700 is hardly a British classic though

Just got off the phone with a Wolseley club member about a 1500 for sale. Might be keen to put in an offer on her.
