Twas a perfect riding day indeed. We were catching up on sleep from Lockie being up all night. The joys of reproducing. I better get back on the bike soon otherwise Brooke will be telling me how to ride it!

You didn't happen to go up to Turoa on Sunday? There was a heap of bikes that went up. I said to Brooke one of them looked like you as we were driving back down the bottom.

Had a good ride out to Kawhia this afternoon. Phil and I took our time, a few other riders out there, I'm posting a new thread regarding a night ride early October. Someone may be interested.

    Sunday ride,

Sunday 18th Any body have a ride in mind? If not, I might do a ride, leaving Te A 10.00 and head off to Ngaroma Whakamaru Tokoroa Putaruru Maungatautri Karapiro.

Alternative route could be to hang a right at Mangakino and back via Bennydale Te Kuiti.

looking at the weather forecast looks like it could be a rather ruff ride, however we are all aware how off the forecasts can be.

    Sunday's ride

Had no interest in my proposed ride last Sunday. so I went with the Ulysses to Aratiatia dam. Quite neat watching the gates opened and the water coming thru. Almost as much water as fell from the sky for most of the ride. We went via the sth Waikato, returning via Pohipi rd and up the Dam country.

The wet ride reminded me that rain need not interfere with having an enjoyable day out on the bike. It was my first decent run on this bike in the wet. I did have a couple of hairy moments on the cruiser though, went a 'wee' tad wide on one or two corners. The feedback isn't as responsive as a sportsbike.

Also, trying to mix it with the big 1000cc sportsbikes in the wet isn't the done thing on a midsized cruiser.
