My apologies to the person of the female persuasion previously named....
Now the whale crack makes sense....

I'd suggest starting on Goldwings and working up though.

    2011 Battle of the Buckets

    ** PRE ENTRY ONLY **

Saturday the 15th of October. Sign in will start at 7:40 and we aim to be on track at 9am

This event will also provide racing for Motards, Pre82/89, Streetstock.

We aim to have a minimum of 6 rounds for every class, so a lot of track time is available.
So just to get my head around this as I'm trying to get tickets sorted etc.

    - There is just the one day & nothing happening on sunday as was traditional?

    - If pre-entry only where are the forms? Not on BMRC website that I can see.

Ok. Battle of the Buckets is definately on. The format will be similar to that of 2009 when the BOB was run in conjunction with a C.A.M.S. meeting. Battle of the Buckets Poster.doc C.A.M.S. run a relaxed friendly meeting but Lachie and Neil still manage to push the races through so expect plenty of racing barring crashes and an enjoyable event .

I'm not sure the YLR team owner/manager is correct about the BEARs on Sunday. It's not on the Race Calander or the BEARs web site unles YL has some inside info? There is a South Canterbury MCC Car/Bike race day at Levels on the 16th. I don't know anything about those but maybe somebody else does?

However the Greymouth Street races are the following weekend and that is a great event for any of the Northerners to stay on for. If anybody needs a bed or bike storage just ask. I'm sure we can sort something. Cheers.

ok just one day is kind of expensive to come down for, 2 days makes it more worth-while. That being said last time the 2nd day was rained off anyway. Besides it makes it one less day the missus has to wrangle a 2yr & 9mth old in & out of baths & beds etc without help.

What time is it likely to wrap up for the day?

Just seen the poster. FFS its been done again with this $20 penalty for non Canterburians. I understand you want to make people join the local club, but it makes it highly offensive to out of towners.

That does seem a bit harsh!

I think it should be discounted or free to northeners, but thats only my opinion.
CAMs do this to non members at Methven you have to pay an extra $30 to race there if you not a member so you may as well join for $30, they should run the IRD

As I think I said last year imagine if people turned up to a road race in the North Island & they said 'oh yer from the sowth i-land, that'dil be another $20'.

Haha, its in post #68 and here it is again I hope. Same as you saw at Stewards training with SS added as you suggested http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/at...4&d=1315216081

As for the $20 entry to the BOB race itself, there are costs BMRC will be picking up for the ambulance and flaggies etc for the hour of the BOB race which we need to cover while the regulars have their lunch etc. BMRC members basically only get the BOB in return for their $20 membership fee so in reality they have simply paid their entry in advance. I considered doing the F4 GP and if I recall correctly the cost per day was considerably more than what we pay for a days racing down here (lucky us ) Still keen to get up there one day.

And yes Dave its a pity its not a weekend with a BEARs day on Sunday, but leave your bike here, grab a cheap $29 flight home and come back the following weekend for Greymouth

    Cheers
