    Safari tanks purchase

I am ordering a Safari tank from safaritanks.com.au today, if anyone is also looking to buy one and wants to group buy to save on freight speak now or forever hold your peace...

Lots of discussion on the two together topping the no GST limit... win some loose some though the Safari might be there all by itself in which case the more the merrier..

Have you looked at justgastanks.com ? Sometimes cheaper IIRC, but then I don't need one so why am I even here ???

Justgastanks won't ship Safari tanks to NZ or Aus. And I can confirm that one safari tank is enough to top the no GST limit

Just emailed them both, I believe NZ falls under the "no freight to Australia" umbrella agreement. I have just emailed them, hopdefully they do, aside from the super fast service the price difference is $688 (JGT) to $832 (Safari) - both less freight

Here is an option from a TDM rider, Gateman on the Yamaha TDM riders forum on advrider.

Seems a good idea and only clipped on when needed. Got to be cheaper than a Safari tank.

Just have to chime in here & say the extra volume of the safari is worth so much more than the one off extra expense of the GST & freight etc-

ie When I look at all that fuel & not having to worry about fuel stops every hour -thats priceless.

Agreed, regardless of price I will be getting the safari tank, it just would have been nicer paying $688 rather than $832 for the exact same item...

Have a look at Nomad tanks, I have their 5L unit, it straps/bolts over the rear gard and is plumbed into the main gas line with a tap, all supplied. It also allows you to choose between having it along or not if just commuting.

Cheers guys but I'm decking it out on a kind of no expense spared scenario based on a build plan that I spent a truck load of time researching and putting together, quite looking forward to bringing it to fruition. I'm getting the 28 litre safari + the Wolfman racks and fuel/water system giving me 32 litres of fuel capacity and 4 litres of water capacity... Setting the bike up not only for hassle free NZ adventure riding but also for a Northern Territory / Western Australia trip next year
