looks like Safari and JGT are just protecting and respecting each others territories. Fair enough in my book.

I agree with padmei about not having to worry about running out of gas all the time, its a pita when you wanna go up a new road but not sure if you will get back or worse have to turn back before you know where it ends.

The build sounds great advgd Keep us posted.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

    But NZ being Safari's territory?

I foresee a rise in the use of freight forwarders...

Will do mate, however everything is under wraps till it is 100% complete, after that I'll do a final build report. Early days at this stage:

Day 1: a nice shiny new 2011 DRZ400E was delivered to my door today. I couldn't resist having a ride so went out for a quick 30 minute blast, bloody love it but it is now in the garage being severely stripped ready for the big ADV rebuild...

Wanna swap a really good unrestricted exhaust for your heavy throttled puny one?

Gotta be worth a thought and is heaps cheaper than an after market tank. Only need it on the big ride days.

Not for me as the TDM goes for days on a tank

I have never used RotoPaxs before so this will be the first time, from the research I have done they have a very good reputation for durability. This is the Wolfman setup ordered to accompany the 28 litre tank:

What pipe/system are you running on yours at the moment? Is it damaged? Can't quite figure why you want a stock one

If quiet is the aim then my one is no good, it is as loud as buggery, pretty sure it has been modified by the Suzuki guys when they unrestricted the carb because that's what I asked them to do to the 250 when I bought it from them. I am sure isn't stock db. Loud droning bloody thing, did my head in even on that first 30 minute ride, can't wait to get it off and get the FMF on there

If you still do want it Padmei let me know

Hmmm this will be interesting. I actually like loud pipes but mine is ridiculously loud - Nordie measured it the other week & it was about 1000 reicters.
I was talking to another mate with the same bike who had a FMF pipe & his (well his mrs' really)was just as loud if not louder.
I wouldn't mind catching up next time I'm down in Chch & seeing if it is as loud.
I want to quieten mine down but don't think there is any really good way apart from going stock.

Doing a bit of maintenace on mine tonite - fluids etc & not looking forward to wrestling the full tank of gas of it.

Do you know any wy of getting some coolant into the resoivoir? All the tubes are pretty small to try to pour fluid down.

You should be able to do some research on the DRZ muffler and build up the part that has been removed/modified. It should be pretty straight forward for a Kiwi DIY guy like yourself

This this insert option could be worth researching db levels
