The doctor sent me to a hand and wrist specialist and now I have a cast past my elbow. Get it off next wednesday but I'm not sure I'll be strong enough to ride. Hurt like a bitch when I got the first cast taken off for a check up last wednesday.

Anne got a new cast on yesterday (3rd in eight days) it will be on for five weeks, that still leaves five weeks till we go.

Tell me about it! Still, this cast is of the fibreglass variety so it is light, and it is the correct length so nothing moves inside it, thank God, for that really friggen hurts I was shocked yesterday to see how wasted my calf muscle had got in a week with no movement, the quads are faring a bit better as I am excercising them best I can, but I will have some serious work to do to regain my strength once this thing comes off.

Now all I really want is a decent nights sleep, will be the best healing thing for me, am sick and tired of being woken up everytime I move. I have also been suffering muscle spasms, Mark describes them as arm tourettes Onwards and upwards

That Grill bar just along from you might a good lunch stop.... (pics below of when we were last there)
Might have to let them know how many could be arriving for Kai on the day though..
Just a thought at this stage, cos its only 84 kms to Cable bay from Paihia.
    That's
The Beach house. Bare in mind it's only 40 mins to Doubtless Bay from here. By the time you stop, un-dress, have wee's, eat, get dressed again you could be there.

Fair call, it used to take me over an hour to get too Maitai Bay from here but not at 80kmh. Any hoo if you allow for the time de-touring off SH10 you would still be better off stopping elsewhere IMHO.

Going over the Mangamukas does not add too much to the travel time either, maybe 40 mins or so.

If you do decide to stop here let me know & I can talk to Blair who runs The Beach house for you, give him the heads up.
