Drop into the top of the Lost Highway and work our way around to the exit at the other end. No clay really but a good test of standing endurance and rough ground bike handling skillz.
I'd really like to maximise my time by riding & not exploring / lifting bikes for the next few weeks. I'm keen to just do a few laps around the familiar stuff in the Forest or Hori.
Although it may be a bit boring I always find places to challenge myself & the longer I ride without stops, the more comfortable I get, worry less & confidence grows.
It would be cool to have a ride around that MX track up The Glen & get used to off camber grass & stuff.

    Anyway what do you reckon.

Might have to be a last Maungatapu fling this weekend: see this post.
    Cheers,

    Hori Bay.
All the side roads on the way in. The normalish route.
Get to the ends and turn around and back down. Keep trucking along. We know the terrain and it then becomes an endurance ride.
A nice hill climb to do a few times, good rain ruts and no other traffic to worry about.

I want to pay the money before really getting back into Hira and replicating NordieBro's cross country loop as a good training circuit.

Bonus with Hori Bay is it's got good grip even when wet.

I'm planning on going out after lunch tomorrow only for a few hours tho- prob Hori bay or Hira forest - both close to home to get a bit of continuos off raod riding in as training for the 6hr . Nordie was keen too.
Would leave 1pm from here for Hori or at Sharlands for the forest.

Sun morning is quality time so won't go any earlier but feel free to organise something if that doesn't suit

Yep. Got my new rear sprocket (back ordered front) and tyre. But not putting the tyre on yet as I'll be forced to use it

My chain is also just within the wear limits...
It came with the bike and I've added 9,000km to it...

Sounds good - just pick a time & place and we can go from there - weather pm is looking better too - just about to go and have a pint with a very miserable Gary, his ankle isn't healing as fast as he wants it to!!!

Sweet, I'll be there. Sounds like a Hori Bay rolling rark-round is the go.

Popped over the Maungatap and back this arvo, boy it's smooth at the moment, they've been doing some work on it!!

PS there is a RAT ride tomorrow as well; 9:45am from the carpark cnr Trafalgar St and Atawhai Dr.
    Cheers,
    Colin
