Yeah, wish my kids would get their shit together and rebuild mine !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Yeah, it must have taken a lot of effort to get it on and off the ute.

The title says 'Two brothers restore...' which is a bit misleading, they never turned a spanner. Yeah, good effort, open the chequebook, sign it, tear it off, job done.

Rewind it 20 years and they were probably slipping the nanny $5 to glue the macaroni to dad's fathers day card

Its the thought that counts.....If my 51' Thunderbird turned up on the back of a ute all done up I'd be rather pleased.

    shush.....its sleeping in tea chests....
looks like an ok day for a Commando ride....done the 5 hours pre ride checks

Weather was so so....rained from papakura to Naike.....ok from then on.....the old Norton did about 300 kms today and over 50MPG what ever that is in centre metres per kg......
Might look at new shocks to replace the Girling look alike pogo sticks....and a new seat for the old bones...

Be nice to see a few more classic bikes out being used instead of all the retro classic wannabes...
Most seem to sit unused.....saying that most of the modern Triumphs on TM seem to have bugger all miles clocked up....whats that about......

Yup totally agree!, its always brings a smile to your face when you see a classic bike crusing down the road
As for the low K's on triumphs....yeah...my old 71 trident was a nightmare to use as everyday transport.....bloody thing used to shake its self to peices lol, got to the point I centre punched nearly every bolt on her (punch mark on bolt & one beside it so they lined up) This way I could see at a glance which bolts where "self" undoing!
Great Bike tho!! loved riding that thing
