Shit thats a good price, personally i think they look shit hot with front white number panel, rear monoposta seat fairing with white panels, just breaks all the red, i did that to my 748 and it totally modernised the look of the bike, i dont think you would find a cheaper 749 ay.

One thing that is interesting regarding the one at Cyclespot is that they say it is NZ new, yet speedo is in miles. Does anyone know if NZ got the 749 new with speedos in miles rather then kph? Or is there something fishy with this bike?

Ensure that you have its service records etc. Wicked nice bikes to ride in the twisties, a little "wristy" in town though.
Adjust the brake and clutch levers to make sure you don't have to 'reach' for them which will take some weight off your wrists in town.
Being a lil' fulla and coming from the Zed, you may find it a lil' 'gutless' unless you choose your gear before giving it a handful. The Zed's do have a smoother delivery and can produce its torque 'kinder'.

IMO...you'll absolutely love it...in the twisties

Depends where they were imported from. Suzuki got a lot of stock from the US and the speedos were in miles. UK is in miles as well. It's not always cost effective for the small NZ market to specify Km/h speedos.

It's quite possible it is NZ new, but never be afraid to ask the question.

I thought this might be the case, but wanted to be sure. I will ask the dealer about this. From the add, the bike just had it's full service, but I will be sure asking for all the service records / receipts.

Very important to get the service records for any high performance bike. It has likely been used as a track day bike as that was what they were intended to be. Best thing if poss would be to speak to the previous owner. If you feel like you are being fobbed off by the dealer, be cautious and be prepared to walk away. Grant should be okay to deal with though.

All said and done, the 748 is a limited edition special high performance track bike and should be looked upon as such, not a "daily driver". If you're after a fun bike to play with and don't intend clocking up commuting/touring miles on it, it will fit the bill nicely. It will cost more to run, though.
