You actually still have it real good over there.
so if I add my insurance with ACC and Rego together then it works out to be $1200+ odd a year here in NZ?

There's still a Medicare 'gap' - extra to be paid for treatment

Private Health insurance is pretty important on top of it too.

Guess so - here a low power 650 with mature rider is nearly a grand - with no personal injury cover or vehicle insurance included.

And it gets more expensive the more powerful the bike and younger the rider.

One better thing is the KLR650 is approved for learners. So Co-pilot can have a fang on't if she wants to.

    How fucking much!!!
Jeez - my XJR13 is $238 with 3rd party - all 5 of our bikes only come to $1134! - but 3 are going on the vintage register at $30/yr, so that'll be $566 for all 5!

plus the $400 a year each comprehensive fo 2 bikes will make it $1366 a year all up!

There has to be some compensation for living out west.......

I just got the sticker today - double checked - $484.05 for six months. Was included in Bike Price - ride away.

New vehicle, but it doesn't have anything noted for duty or anything itemised - just amount paid.

    Comprehensive was $360.00 with Swann.

yep & I'd pull it from your earnings too, the ONLY place I'd charge ACC is in GST, it's supposed to be a system paid by everyone to be used by everyone, so lets make everyone pay make it fair
The kid who buys their (now) 10c lollies pays, the dole bludger who buys their fags pays, you pay I pay we all pay the only person that won't pay will be the guy out in the bush living off the land who wouldn't use the services anyways

Not sure about the guy in the bush (who may claim for ACC) but it has possibilities after a few other tax adjustments. I don't think it can support itself entirely using only GST unless it's a huge increase.

Ok so I understand this correctly you pay a one off charge per year for third party insurance that covers what ACC here covers?

Do you have to pay additional costs on every litre of petrol?

If not and you travel a real amount of kilometres then it would be cheap wouldn't it?
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.
