I wont prepay, or leave a card with them. If they insist I move to another station. After swapping the 95 and 91 handles in their holders. no more sales till they work it out...

David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
Serves you cunts right for living in the North Island
Haven't struck prepay down here yet
ALL the pumps down this way are pre-pay ... you pay before you leave ... what's the problem ...
YOUR problem ... not OURS ...![]()

I'm sure everyone's watched those "we reckon z is for New Zealand" adds where they ask people to tell them what we want from their gas stations, anybody thought of actually doing that?
If we all went to their website and left hundreds of emails/comments/suggestions box opinions expressing our overwhelming need to pay for gas only after filling up and how the availability of this option dictates our choice of gas provider......
Maybe we would see it as official policy in all shell and z stations to allow motorcycles that privilege! And you know what it would be totally awesome to have one more reason for cage drivers to hate us out jealousy!
hahahahaha it sprays onto my face otherwise
As a white woman over 35 I obviouslt look "low risk"
In saying that, I did fill my bike and then my card was declined because I had the wrong one in my jacket pocket - I had to ride home and get the other card and then payI offered to leave something with them but they were cool about it.
I go to pump & stick nozzle in tank. If it fails to fill go to next gas station. There is one shell nearish me that wont unlock the pumps so i dont go there. Only had the one not unlock the pump. I refuse on principle to pay 1st.
Never pre-paid... but I do leave my card with some... need the gas somehow...
Worst was one station, won't let me fill. Go up, "You have to pay first". Nope, not paying first, but I will leave you my card. Seems to satisfy him, and back to bike. Try to fill, still can't. "You can't sit on bike while filling". "FFS, give me my card back".
"But sir... I". "GIVE ME MY FUCKEN CARD BACK YOU'VE MADE IT TOO FUCKEN HARD". Down the road, no problem.
I try to use the ones that have real attendants more often (y'know, the ones that actually help people fill). Pakuranga Shell is one. Shell in general is quite good, and I fill up a lot. Flybuys is just as good. A few hundred litres a month is good points.

The problem is that the gas stations make the employees financially responsible for anyone that doesn't pay up (drive offs). If you were earning minimum wage and any random person could disadvantage you $100+ within a couple of minutes then you'd be doing the same.
I find that 'making the commitment' by removing my helmet before filling up and then maybe a wave at the attendant through the glass always works; apart from at the fucking Papakura BP (not the autobahn, the suburban one) which is entirely peopled by assholes.
Until they only do prepay as well? Then what?
Most times prepay or not I stick the nozzle in and wait 99 % of the time they just let me fill (car or bike). With the belligerent fuckers that don't - I just lay down the hose on the forecourt and go elsewhere. uckem. Idiots.
Why people put up with that shit, I don't know. Gas stations went from being service stations with service not so very long ago, to this bullshit....fuck that - the more people that discourage it by voting with the feet (wheels) and moving on, the less places will prepay.
Pull up, put the nozzle in the tank, ignore any voices from speakers nearby, fluff around, clean visor or windscreen, check if pump turned on returning nozzle to pump if not, visit restroom, line up in cue, attempt to pay, saunter off & leave.
