Sigh, must be nice to have enough money that ACC can be considered cheap enough to pay multiple times :-(

    Dumb question time:

Do you not have decent enough accident cover in Fully Comp? Does everyone pay ACC separately?

Accident Compensation insurance covers your medical bills in the event of an accident. It's for the person, not the bike. It's compulsory, and part of the annual motorcycle road licensing fee. Our government has recently doubled it from around $250 a year to around $520...

What makes it worse is that you have to pay a FULL ACC levy for EACH motorcycle. Two motorcycles - two ACC levies + another for the car + one for each other vehicle you own, i.e. truck.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Should add for the internationals, that it's no-fault (doesn't matter how the accident happened, only that somebody got hurt and needs to be fixed), it's universal (doesn't matter how much you have paid to ACC, even if it's $0, you're still covered), and that the licencing fee ACC is just one stream of revenue we pay to ACC, we all also pay a sum garnished fron our wages/salary (ACC Earner Levy), and companies pay a sum each year also.

Ahh, they don't ticket you for that, it's for riding an unlicensed vehicle...

And to the OP, Three (seems to be a popular number in this thread).

Doesn't matter in any case, ACC cover is universal for everybody in New Zealand, citizens, residents and visitors alike (except for accidents during serious criminal acts, but even then there are still provisions to actually fix your injuries free of charge especially so you can work, just not provide ongoing funds), doesn't matter if you so much as paid a cent into the ACC coffers, you're still covered.

But this has got quite off topic now

    6......

One is for parts, one is a classic and a garage ornament, and the other four, soon to be three are used. Never ever ever have more than two bikes rego'd at once. Mostly just one. Would have no issues with paying a reasonable rego fee like it used to be and have a few legal. Rego is now not reasonable so dont.
