    Hard Bastards

Todays racers, though highly skilled, seem to lack the character of the riders from days of old.Men like Mick Doohan who rode with a leg so busted up they had to fit a thumb operated rear brake.....or..Rollie Free who would ride anything except a Harley and was quick with his fists if a Harley rider looked at him sideways.....or..Carl Foggerty with his thousand yard stare....Who would put on your list of Hard Bastards?

Any one who tackles a race like the IOM TT, you would have to have a degree of hardness to race there.
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.

Kevin Schwantz. The only man I know that could win races on an evil 500cc GP 2 stroke big banger with both arms in the cast.
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

HAHA, you talking about a guy who went walkabout on his team for 3 race meetings because he wasn't feeling like racing bikes and wanted a time out.

I have a vid of him from the Lucky Strike Promo film that shows him weekend after the Laguna GP where he fell and dislocated his hip and rebroke one of his wrists. There is a scene that shows him getting ready for a race and the guys are fitting his gloves for him as he has a cast on each wrist/arm. He went out and won the race. I believe it was at Donnington if memory servs me right

And on to two more wins at the IOM. He won 14, sorry just being pedantic.

I agree he was certainly hard though.

Is that the one that has the awesome picture of him bawling his eyes out like a baby? The same guy that criticized Stoner for missing three races due to being dangerously crook? THE same guy that quit half way into a season? OH...that tough guy!!!
