I like people arguing over middle of the range cars
Kind of like "my Bandit 600 is cooler than your CB600, because it's very similar and uninspiring"

Keep it up chaps, it's amusing reading and I'd own nigh on anything with eight cylinders, at least it's not Evo/WRX fanboys.

As much as i have enormous respect for Brock for me anyway the "king of the moutain" title will always go to Dick Johnson for when still a privateer beat a factory backed Brock on the mountain.Johnson did great things way before competing regularly at Bathurst his problem was he couldnt finance racing outside of his local circuit basically, when the rest of them came to town he would on occasion beat them but that it was it,didnt have the money to race everywhere.Years later after driving a ex Brock /Factory Bathurst raced Commodore he said "fuck he had it easy".

VF commy in the showrooms mid 2013, very much on the zeta platform. Its USA ford that stuffed the falcon, basically because they are not selling enough.

Ford had plans to make the '61 to '63 Thunderbirds FWD hence the strut type suspension as opposed to their earlier models, (they woosed out for fear of being stuck with a lemon I beleive) but as below sold the patents to GM.

" Long story short is that the project was on track for release in '63 but canned due to cost and the patents sold to GM - they refined the concept and came up with the Toronado/Eldorado FWD cars in the mid '60s. Tooling for the Thunderbirds shock towers and the suspension system being done so far in advance in anticipation of half-shafts, etc. meant that the package carried over for '64-66 Thunderbird. Of course most of you all know what happened with the changeover for '67 and reversion to/sharing of full-size Ford/Mercury technology and components."

The person who crashed into a tree whilst attempting to beat Brock's lap time?

Sorry, but his name isn't on the trophy.

Nah. falcoons were stuffed long ago. As a previous owner, I wouldn't have another one.
Even refuse to get into one at a taxi rank.

    Peter Brock Trophy
Following Brock's death in an accident during a rally (Targa West Event) in Western Australia, V8 Supercars Australia announced that from 2006 onwards, the drivers in the Bathurst 1000 would be racing to win the Peter Brock Trophy.

It's wasted on one eyed ford fans, bought the caps and t-shirts, marketing dept quickly worked out their loyal fans never bought new falcons, but drove four cylinder front wheel drives, so are meeting their customers expectations with the real car they desire, ..(except the attempt to flog off a ford taurus as a falcon has failed once before). Meanwhile obama told the industry to make fuel efficient cars, GM then sold more Comaros than.. sorry customers bought more comaros, the VE commy is the donor car for those, so commy cemented it's place, GM V8's got supercharged instead of culled, meanwhile at ford.......'one ford' one car strategy across the globe.
