    Which bike to buy?

    Hey guys.

I'm looking at buying a cruiser for going on long trips and general sunny day exploration, but am having difficulty finding a suitable bike. I'm hoping someone can help me.

    Things to note:

A C50 Boulevard is too wide.
    I weigh a mere 69Kg.
I've ridden a C50 and found its level of power to be less than exciting.
I want saddle bags and a pillion seat (preferably with back rest).
It needs to have a decent fuel capacity for long trips.
I'd prefer forward mounted foot pegs for quicker cornering.
    Has to be cruiser styled.
    Budget is max $11K.

    Any suggestions?
    -Chris

You should be able to get a tidy M90 or a VZ800 Marauder for well within your price limit. Don't buy any cruiser displacing less than 800cc. They're gutless, completely and utterly, unless your intention is merely to cruise around town on it.

Dont think you will find a "smallish" cruiser with stacks of power. Depends whether your idea of power is high road speeds or plenty of pull from way down.

If a C50 doesn't have enough power, then you are going to have to look at the bigger bikes.

Contary to what Hitcher says, I ride a Yamaha xvs650. and it will run all day, anywhere from 60k's to 115k's in top gear. I get 220k to a tank. Have done a lot of day trips in the company of larger bikes and had no problems keeping up a good pace. Not a lot of top speed, but it's a cruiser, not a sportsbike.

Yeh I want good pick up from stand still but also plenty of torque at 100Km/h if I need to overtake in a hurry.

    Cheers,

    with a budget of 11k, there are plenty of options, shadows, Viragos, m109, C90 . . .
Agree with not going sub 800cc.
Dont worry about your weight too much, cruisers carry their weight low anyway.
