The DR needs a run so where to that's not too gnarly?
Hori Bay?
Wairoa Gorge?
Elsewhere?

Right, I just talked to JC, decision made to meet Britwater motel carpark again, 1pm, heading up Wairoa Gorge area gain for a looksee. At least if it gets hot, there's plenty of rivers to cool off in
Cool(ish)...
I took a trip out to French Pass today.

agreed, the run down french pass is awesome, not roadbike material on the seal, just too bumpy in my opinion, perfect big single/trailie roads tho![]()
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
yer can get out to Raetihi , just after St Omar theres a road that goes over the top
to Crail bay... the prob is theres not a lot of signage.... If yer get as far as the portage
you have missed the turn off... Now from memmory.. the turn of is just as yer leave
the coast & go over the top to the other coast the Portage is on...i think/maybe..
but I know yer can get out feather than that... finding the right roads is the trick with
little signage...
give n me a yell..I will waist a tank of gas with yer... still waiting for that dam XT660
to turn up...![]()
Pete
90% of all Harleys built are still on the road... The other 10% made it back home...
Ducati... Makeing riders into mechaincs since 1964...
I very much want to head out to Crail bay again soon. Shall we organise a Nads rideout there - anyone else keen?
Oh BTW it is past French pass road- turnoff past Linkwater.

It might be a KTM submarine, I took my own advice and cooled off in one of the river crossings. Ahhhh, cool water, Ohhhh no, blown headlight.
First thing I did when I got home was unchoke that damn muffler too, hard starts are no fun, nor is exhaust smoke from fuel flooding, not good for the nerves.
Thanks boys, good exploring out there.
