Next day was through Mt Gambier, they have a lake

    And this lookout thing

everything was near the main rd so it is good if your in a hurry

Anyway, we then followed the coastline from Port MacDonnell eastwards towards Warrnambool to see MrsJ's aunty, passing another milestone on the way

Had a bit of a poke around Warrnambool the next day,

Saw this little critter at Tower hill wildlife park there,

they have some really nice beaches there too, this is whale watching platform, the whales can come into the whitewater, so it would be quite a sight, we were there at the wrong time

It was nice not to be puting on riding gear and spending the day on the bike

The next day it was onto.......

    here's London bridge

I wont show you the pics of the 12 appostles as there isn't 12 and you'd only feel as ripped off as I did.
Anyway, parts of the ride a very nice and scenic, it was good to cross that one off the bucket list too.
We ended the day at Ocean Grove south of Melbourne.
The next day was our last with the big Beemer

After being woken by heavy rain and a rather impressive thunder storm it was time to pack up for the last time. (not)

    Another ferry ride

From Queenscliff across to Sorrento, then we made our way to Koo-Wee-Rup and some squiggly lines I'd seen on the map just to the east of Melbourne. Dandenongs they're called and aparently they're a popular place for bikes on weekends.
Wasn't so nice for us though

About here I lost interest, couldn't get past the truck, wet and cold, sore, and the dropoff point was only about 1/2 an hr away and a vehicle in front had dropped diesel on the road, so much I could smell it

still some interestin things to see though

Finnished the day with a train ride

The Yarra river is just under the bright light, middle of pic. 2 below and Flinders st station is just on the other side of the river

Cyew in a couple of days.....

    And we've gone from this....

    to this......

Ummm Jatz, those 'whales' you were indicating to are actually koala bears - they live in trees not water

Melbourne rocks. Make sure you take a walk up Elizabeth street, and take Mrs J along the south side of the riverbank at night.

Yes..... point taken and the post has been fixed
We rode out to cape Otway on Tuesday and the trees were dripping with the little fury beggars.

It seems alright so far, went out for tea last night in Federation square, they've put deck chairs out so you can sit down and watch pictues on the big screen and we walked along the river after tea, the sun was setting between the buildings and all was good with the world.
We'll go for a good walk around today and get lost, see what we see

There's a free tourist bus that leaves every half hour I think from outside the museum n the south side of the river thats not bad, and a ride on the free circle tourist tram is worth a go too, and Ned Kellys armour is in another place, I think it was the state library or something.

The melbourne markets can be good too.

    Cool Jatzes,

Go up the big tower and go on the cantilever tower thing. You may be able to see the whales eating gum leaves in the sea.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Went up the big tower, twice once to have a look at the city during the day and again to watch the sun set, quite spectacular from 88 floors up
Didn't do the cantilever thing though
Had a good look around on foot Eddie, some of those little laneways are cool with little caffe's and trinket shops, we spent 2 days just poking around the central city. The market was an eye opener for MrsJ, if only we had something like that here, Oh yeah, Elizabeth st was good (bastid) I found peter stevens m/c
Home again now, I'll finish the RR at some stage, right now I've got some duty free to get into and bore the kids with a slide show

Mrs J just said " it's good to be home and we don't have to pack up and go anywhere tomorrow, but it's a shame we're not going somewhere new"

Here's some more pics from the other week......last ones I promise, don't want to put anyone to sleep

A bit of Karri forest after leaving Pemberton in heavy rain

A bit of the road into Bettys beach, just east of Albany

And here's the beach, a mask and snorkle would've been handy to get some abalone

MrsJ mucking around in the kitchen, all food and cooking gear was in there, aswell as the lonely planet and bike lock, one pannier had clothes the other sleeping bags, shoes and some odds and ends, we were very frugal with our packing

We didn't see any of the things on the sign despite looking pretty hard

We went past this guy, wonder if he got the record He looked happy

And Harley riders DO wave, I have the proof

    No flies on me.....

The main road also doubles as an airstrip for the flying doctors

This ones pretty obvious..... I met one of the 8 and the dog and had a run in with some of the budgies

This is what the Nullabor looks like

There was supposed to be a roadhouse here (Yalata) just as well we didn't need fuel

    Couple more....

Interestin rock formation at Murphys haystacks, just out of Smokey bay

Signing in at Bool Lagoon just south of Naracoorte. It cost $5.50 for the bike and $10.00 for the 2 of us to camp for a night in National parks/Cons area's, still about half the cost of an unpowered tent site at a campground. I struggled for a bit with the idea of paying just to enter a N.P. but the money is put to good use so it wasn't so bad.

They grow a bit of wheat over there, who knew I'm pretty sure this is Portland, the yellow piles are wheat, there was depots all over the place with huge piles of the stuff

We went to have a look at some caves and found Donovans landing, looked llike a nice wee spot

Just taking a break in Port Fairy

MrsJ spotted an Echidna, by the time we turned around and got of the bike it'd run into the scrub and tried to bury itself under a tree, I wasn't game to pull it out, the spines felt kinda sharp

A couple of interesting things on the Great Ocean road....... well I thought they were worthy of a pic

Had to stop at a roadside stall....Mmmmmm

Federation square in Melbourne, there was a bit of a concert the last night we were there, quite a cool place to hang out in the evening

I was surprised at the number of people who commuted on bikes, everything from big Harleys and sport bikes to these 2 fine examples. I liked the home made electric jobbie

and this guy musta lived waaaay out of town

    Last 2.....
Melbourne from 88 floors up, during the day

    and at night
