at least 3 bikes... and I agree all the way, road looks normal, road seems straight, seems like a case of following and or passing to close, basicly shit house riding ie: riding beyond ones capability and or the bikes... hey what do I know but to blame the road is simiply a piss poor excuse.

edit: fuck just read page one, yet theres 10 pages LOL

For what purpose was the video posted in the first place, was it a "what NOT to do" one ... ??? or just a few moments of "fame" for a few. The "not speeding" comment made me laugh ... as they were going too fast for the conditions (otherwise they wouldn't have crashed) and they couldn't get out of each others way. Inexperience on the bike being ridden was one off, following too closely ... a second ... The cause of the THIRD off ... ???

The video will (should)be a must see for anybody organising (or thinking of organising) a GROUP ride ...

There were witness that gave statements to police regarding behavior and speed this was not a factor in the accident.
Speed limit is not a recommended velocity but merely the speed at which legal action can be taken should you exceed it. Clearly the speed at which the bend was executed in this instance was not commensurate with the traction coefficient of the surface. The speed was too high for the conditions even though it may have been below the enforceable speed limit. I'm saying this nicely because Katman will be along in a moment to say it nastily.

And we all know that had it been any one of us on the same patch of road we would have been 100% fine...

As you can see, kiwibiker is full of little angel bikers who ride perfectly all the time and thus have the moral high ground to criticise without being there or seeing it unfold.

Auckland doesn't have the monopoly on crap roads ... but they hog (excuse the pun) the repair funding for most of those they do have ... our crap roads dont get repaired as quickly ...

And whose bright idea was to organise a large group ride over crap roads ... ???

We didn't feature in the ditch in a vid (well not lately)

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

This thread is more entertaining than the night at Show Girls when one of the punters jumped in the pool with the girls. I like your work team.
