It will be interesting to see how the tv programme that the camera was there for portrays the event.
We can do without the bad press.
Yawn.
I think you'll find Mangatawhiri is in the Waikato, so what thats got to do with Auckland will need clarification.
And while you're on your "xenophobic" rant, remind us all which island with a population base equivalent to the North Shore has needed $1.7b of taxpayer money to bail out a Madoffian finance company, bled the EQC dry - requiring a levy increase on ALL homeowners, has required the govt. to guarantee at least one insurance co. and now needs further bailing (pun maybe intended) because of flooding in the upper regions.
People in glass houses and all that.
what a compleat bulshit post, mate this could happen to evey one and all of us... however its unlikely to for those that ride to the conditions not bunched up and can handle there bikes acordingly. as below.
I would have to 'asume' (I know which we shouldnt) you are right on the head of the nail
cheers DD

Having organised many group rides ranging from a dozen to several hundred participants, I want to know why the camera bike rider thinks its fine for him to roam the pack endangering every other rider??
His presence and the fact every sing rider looks at him frequently is the main contributor to the 'possibility' of a pile up - and that while being MY opinion, is also a fact.
Its one thing to have a helmet cam, or even a passenger with a hand held but add a bike roaming through the group, screwing all the following distances, closing down escape routes... recipe for disaster.
There was nothing wrong with the road.
Just ride.

So really ONE bike went down. A bike that was essentially unfamiliar to the rider and of a different type than hes been used to and the other two were caught up in the chaos? Surely thats significant????? If that first bike that went down was the first bike in the pack then you might have a case for the road but if its not then while the road is a contributing factor its not really the cause.
No - I'm not turning into Katman (bless him) and my motivation is a little different but if we value our past time we need to keep it real.
