    XT660 coming together

    It's slowly getting there..
So far.. Metal Mule pipe / Puig screen.
I turned up 36mm fork spring pre-load spacers to remove
75% of the sag & made a set of lowering links.
every 10mm longer gives 25mm drop.. with the high
pipe it's got 15mm more ground clearance than
with standard pipes at standard hight...
just waiting on a 660 Tenere bash plate ..with the
high pipes the tenere plate should or could be made
    to fit....
My next project are bars to protect the rad & side wings...
    rear rack....

Metal mule build a nice system.. fitted with no drama's
even surplyed a bracket to move the rear brake master cylinder..

Makes you wonder why the didn't do the high pipes in the first place.

It has at that.... better long trip bike..
BUT I think as a all round package the XR is a better bike..
XR only has 23hp but it seems to be able to makes better use of them...
ie.. the sum total of all the componets that make up the XR work better togeather..
than what the XT componets do...
    now i'm confused

A bit more of the puzzle came togeather...
Got a B&B Tenere bash plate... All but fitted
had to mill a couple of slots for the rear bolts.
Made stainless brackets to hold a top box...
just waiting on the 22.5L tank from Gilimoto Brazil..

    roll on the 28th..

I didn't build them.... got them from the UK..
The good thing with a high system.. I have lowered the
bike 50mm but have 20mm more ground clearance than
    with the low system..

    Dino3310....

The 22.5L tank is more to save the standard tank & scoop things.
looks like it will give better protection for the radiator..
should get 520km from it.... 350km from the standard tank...
    Like the pic but blue...

Ouwh well... they still still look bloody good anyway and the fact that you can lower the bike and retain your ground clearance is a double plus.

520 km from a tank too .... that will allow you to do a lot of poking around without a worry.
