I'm doing Molesworth/ Rainbow/ home on the 28th of Dec. I'll be taking Schmidtty so I won't be doing Altimarloch or anything tricky - just plain non stop riding as a shakedown ride for the Dusty buttocks.
There hopefully won't be any maintenance stops however I will take some extra bolts & loctite.
I plan on leaving early, going via taylors Dam only really stopping in Hanmer for a coffee, gas & sweet thing then straight back.
If you're interested in hanging out let me know.

Can anyone advise the current state of the Porika Track, as planing a trip through there next week from Christchurch via Mangles Valley and back through the Rainbow. Is it ok to do by yourself?
Don't dream it - Be it!
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
I did the porika last weekend, it's a little washed out but nothing out of the ordinary. i wouldn't do it 2up on a beemer at the moment but that may have changed if a few 4wd's have gone through moving the loose stuff out of the way.
The Braeburn road is in perfect condition but the ford are slipperier than usual. Maruia saddle is in perfect condition also![]()

I'm planning on leaving here at 730 am sharp so will get to hanmer at lunchytime.
If we want to catch up should we swap cell phone no's as it would be hard to estimate what time we'd meet up wouldn't it?
