I do but instead of going to the very edge of the road and right to the centre line, I hang back a bit. So basically make the road I use a bit smaller than the width of the road.

Yeah, he's such a bad rider he probably has weeks to live....
I mean he's only been making these videos since 2005 in one of the most dangerous countries for motorcyclists, on both Youtube and Livevideo. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe riding poorly isn't always the instant death sentence some think it is?

Then it's not a race line, but a sensible road line.
Nothing wrong with that either, keep it rubber side down bro.

His comments after stopping are astounding to say the least.
The worst lines I have ever seen.
His attitude (at the end) along with his riding skills, also needs attention.

I'm a fan of the slow in fast out method with late turn in, nearing an apex in the second half of the corner (on longer corners there may be several apexes). Seems a safer way to ride, not turning as sharp, smoother lines and slow in means theres allowable margins for errors (the road surface is inadequate ).
I'm not 100%, but that doesn't sound like a racing line. It sounds more like a qualifying line, which is faster overall, but provides the opportunity for others to pass you on the inside. A racing line is somewhere in between early apex (undertaking) and late apex (qualifying) and is supposed to be a trade off of speed and trying to keep the track tighter for the other riders.

At one point I spend a few hours watching M13's videos, more for the commentary than the riding.

My jaw dropped when he was trying to decide if his front or rear tire was bouncing into the corner, never mind the shitty lines.

I'm sorry, I watched the whole video, and apart from him cutting a few corners, what was the problem, exactly? He was just pootling. Heaps of elbow room and time to react. On some sort of scooter or Scorpio-like machine by the looks of it. Bit sloppy perhaps, but he didn't lose the plot at any stage.

I had the audio off, was there something terrible in the soundtrack that I missed?

    Dunno about that.

There's only a need to be defensive if someone is threatening to pass. A pit board will warn that someone is catching you up, and you can take what you call a "qualifying line" even harder to keep them from doing it.

Guy was no Troy Corser, but he didn't seem to be riding like he thought he was either.

Don't see what the fuss is about.
