Much as I'd like to, I can't blame the kids in Featherston.
The problem isn't the kids. They're just a by-product of a society that encourages single parenting as a career option and status symbol. Having whelped, too many young mothers don't really know what to do with their offspring. Kids just curb their carefree lifestyles. The Royal Tavern, local wacky backy, and the Kardashians on TV offer way more excitement than sitting around reading to kids and then making sure that they go to bed at a reasonable hour.
The cut-and-paste machine on Facebook today was waxing eloquently about the difference between kids growing up and kids being raised. There's not a lot of child raising going on in too many New Zealand homes, largely because of a lack of knowledge and commitment. Shooting or incarcerating the offending youths won't start to address this problem.
Remember that it's harder to own a dog then it is to have kids.

Na not at all, sorry,to be honest it all seems so bloody simple but somehow its all gone so wrong eh,we used to be a Nation of grafters that would overcome any problem these days not only do many struggle to bring there kids up knowing the meaning of the word respect we have people apparently running the show that dont seem to have a clue about the basics let alone running a country...to top it off we put them there.
again.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
My first thought was we could send the little shits to Oamaru as punishment but it is probably more humane just to kill them all
Surprised noone has tabled the option where the parents are asleep and the kids go out after that. I know that happen, I also know that yr olds on the street could also mean pissed up passed out parents... but it is the fault of the kids as bad parenting doesn't count for everything, as good parenting doesn't either.
I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
There's a 16 year old little fuck from Turangi who could be put to good use there.
Oh no - its an epidemic....
