Nothing happened.. more what could have happened. Mainly I just wanted to point out the group riding thread as I think it's really useful and knowing what's contained in it would help make the experience even more enjoyable than it already is!

They should have contrasted it by showing the same bike with a motorcycle tyre. But yes, I don't think there is much comparison between using a tyre designed for the application of using it on a motorbike, to that designed for a four wheeled vehicle being mis-used on a motorcycle.
Car tyres have a flat contact area, even in the vidio you can see that most of the tyre is off the ground. A sports tyre has a pointy contact area this gives the tyre less foot-print when upright but when leant over in a turn there is the maxim foot-print when you need it. I would like to see the demistration done at pace in the wet.
The only time that you fit car tyres to a bike is when it has a side car,I think the reason is obvious.

Hey all, earlier in the month I mentioned the possibility of a ride up north. I am not doing this now, instead, my wife and I are riding down to Napier to see family. If anyone else wants to organise a ride up north over Auckland anniversary weekend, feel free
If anyone knows of a nice way to go to napier on the bike, in one day, I would welcome suggestions other than the normal via taupo route.
Sometimes life goes in funny directions, just go with the flow.....
OK, listen up people. It would be wise to avoid OLD North Rd. there is new seal laid today between the one way bridge and just before the bottom of the nice S bends that wind up to Peak Rd intersection.
AND there is pea gravel all the way up the S bends hill almost to Peak Rd.
I don't think this would be a good time to test the newbies on gravel.
Rick.
