I did get the knackered pump back, I don't know if I could bench test it though (really can't be arsed refitting it)
Attach some wires odds are its only going to need 12 volts it'll either run or it wont failing that if it don't run out of shear interest id pull it apart to see what is damaged.

Nah it was fluctuating fuel pressure, the pump worked and the bike ran, but "apparently" the pump wasn't maintaining the correct fuel pressure. Which I assume would need something that could test the pressure at the output.

clamp a pressure gauge to the out let on a hose it will bounce the needle if it fluctuating wouldn't need to be a huge gauge 80-100 psi would do

I did ages ago, which I'd forgotten about. Ran fine once I'd put fuel back in, but perhaps it had been damaged.

2011 CRF450 did make the least peak power, but i am sure it had the most usable power and was one of the fastest in a straight line and 3rd or 4th gear roll on was better.
Yeah and realistically there aren't a lot of people that can utililze the power of a 450 so a few HP down on the other isn't going to be noticed at all. It comes down to how the bike handles and gets the power to the ground. Same old story about 450 vs the 500 2T.

    Totally agree,

    When you can't deal with the big 450 power , repower with a 500 2T ...

    Works every time , ......Magic
