Thanks for the write up Padmei, and the brownie it hit the spot about 3:00 this morning, while I was lying awake trying to get comfortable and block out the snoring. Also to the TOPO's your visit and chockies were welcome

Happy to be home again although a little sore around the torso and a fractured socket on my right hip I still don't know for sure what happened (but the bike has a flat front tyre) I was riding well, not fast, and i like to think smoothly .....Nek Minute I woke up with some guy telling me i'd just fallen off my bike and no recollection of much past Isolated saddle.
I spent a pleasant couple of hours in the company of a family from Chch who made me as comfortable as possible, before the ranger showed up and called the Helicopter.
The chopper medic cut my almost new rally X pants to ribbons awell as other articles of clothing, I wouldn't let him near my jacket, prefering to wriggle out of that instead. They put me on a stretcher type thing with a brace on my neck, suspected spinal injuries, and flew me to hospital.
I spent the next couple of days being looked after very well by the nurses at Nelson Hospital, who do an outstanding job

Thanks for the best wishes guys, and the offer to pick the bike up Woodman/Topo, but I think that is taken care of.
I may post some pics of the day later, I have 6 weeks off work so I have plenty of time.

Speedy recovery Jatz. I remember a corner in that part of the Molesworth that caught me by surprise last time through. A left hander with a bank on the right side.

I think it was a nothing corner, and I am getting to know the road fairly well now. Just one of those things I guess

You had better scan and post the newspaper article up here so that us Other Islanders can "read all about it"
