Thanks for the write up Padmei, and the brownieit hit the spot about 3:00 this morning, while I was lying awake trying to get comfortable and block out the snoring. Also to the TOPO's your visit and chockies were welcome
Happy to be home again although a little sore around the torso and a fractured socket on my right hipI still don't know for sure what happened (but the bike has a flat front tyre) I was riding well, not fast, and i like to think smoothly
.....Nek Minute
I woke up with some guy telling me i'd just fallen off my bike and no recollection of much past Isolated saddle.
I spent a pleasant couple of hours in the company of a family from Chch who made me as comfortable as possible, before the ranger showed up and called the Helicopter.
The chopper medic cut my almost new rally X pants to ribbonsawell as other articles of clothing, I wouldn't let him near my jacket, prefering to wriggle out of that instead. They put me on a stretcher type thing with a brace on my neck, suspected spinal injuries, and flew me to hospital.
I spent the next couple of days being looked after very well by the nurses at Nelson Hospital, who do an outstanding job
Thanks for the best wishes guys, and the offer to pick the bike up Woodman/Topo, but I think that is taken care of.
I may post some pics of the day later, I have 6 weeks off work so I have plenty of time.![]()
I will come and teach you how to knit, that should keep the boredom at bay.
xxx hope you don't feel too awful

Speedy recovery Jatz. I remember a corner in that part of the Molesworth that caught me by surpriselast time through. A left hander with a bank on the right side.
Hmmm I think maybe research into building a sidechair may be a good use of your time Jatz - Mrs Jatz will be driving of course![]()
In life as in dance Grace glides on blistered feet
Great that you are back home well-ish.
There has been a few broken bodies of inmates lately aye.
Be careful out there guys and gals.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........
Heal up well mate, with some of that extra time maybe you could start putting ideas together for another winter trip similar to the last one we did, let us know how you get along
Josh
Hmmmm, maybe..... I'll put my thinking cap onbut I won't be riding again for at least 6 weeks, probably more
Oh No, god help us if Mrs J ever had a sidecar. I make a really crap passenger too
I think it was a nothing corner, and I am getting to know the road fairly well now. Just one of those things I guess
Awww I'm feeling the love from hereI could knit myself some new pants
I even made the Nelson Mail last nightsigned photos will be available once my publicist gets onto it
Just caught up on this, bad news Jatz.
I'm coming over your way on monday so I'll stop in for a visit.
best wishes for a good and speedy recovery from J and I too.
