So girls, I have a question for you

Well as the title states i have a question for you.
I want to try get my wife into bikes. Her dads always ridden but she won't even go pillion.
The reason i want to get her into it is because i want my girls (5 month old twins ) to be able to have a go when they are older.
I raise this issue now as i assure you i need to put in plenty of ground work before she will even let me get them some peewee 4 wheelers.

Do you think that you really need to get your wife into bikes before she will be comfortable with your girls learning to ride? Maybe you should get her to see kids MX and she can see that it is a safe way for kids to learn to ride, and they have fun doing it.

Is a shame that she won't ride pillion though. Is a cool way to travel, but must admit I would rather be riding than pillioning.

I took my girlfriend to an off road place with wee bikes for kids, she jumped on a PW80 & had a blast. Two years on & she has just put the L plate on her own bike

Admittedly she really enjoyed being pillion when she finally realised I had no intention of riding like a tool.

im lucky - my wife loves bikes and basically demands I have one - even high speed offs at the racetrack dont deter her from wanting me to keep riding.

As for getting her into bikes - there is more to bikes than road riding, not everyone wants to sit on back of a bike so try to show her what all the other fun things there are to do with bikes.

How about trying to make a family day with a picnic, and take the whole family to watch a local moto x event, one that features kids as well, to show her how many families use bikes as a way to bond, - look at all the work mums and das put into their kids riding etc.

Try taking her to a bike rally - have her drive there with your gear and just spend time around riders, let her see what kind of lifelong friendships are made through riding,

Its not as easy as just trying to make her get on the thing, you need to show her that biking is about way more than just sitting on a bike for a few hours - let her discover at her own speed how much of a life enriching experience it can be to live your life around motorcycles.

Babies only 5 months old and she's never been able to be convinced previously. I'd say hold off till the terrible twos hit then offer pillion ing somewhere for a coffee while someone babysits. Unless she requires a baby break much earlier. Softly softly though id say.

There you go. Don't forget to tell her how nice it would be to have her wrapped around you as you tootle free. Notice strategic placement of word tootle. You should go soo smooth and slow when u do manage to get her on the back. Leave her feeling good and wanting another 'escape'.

Lol she personally thinks i should get an R1 (looks like a wasp which is cool lol) or ZX14r (it has bug eyes and its cute...) cause they are the prettiest lol....which is weird..she hates bugs lol

mmm, I wouldn't say either of those are the prettiest.. not the prettiest bikes nor the prettiest sports bikes

there are older ducatis and aprilias around for half decent money

besides - who hasn't got an R1 eh, shit i'v got one in my bedroom right now..
