Anyone want a hand working on their bike?

if any of you guys (in auckland) are repairing, assembling, or modifying your bikes.

I'm pretty new to riding, and i'm keen to break into motorcycle automotive, so if you know what you're doing and wouldnt mind
parting with some of your knowlege of the ins and outs, let us know.

i'm 22 and have recently moved to auckland, tryna find some new opportunities
im not mechanically skilled, but really want to be.
    would be very helpful

    cheers.

    Mine needs a clean !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Come further south, I own a hyo too, its at the point where the fairings are no longer on it, because im sick of taking them off every week...

Seriously though, go to www.korider.com ask for the pdf manual for your bike, strip it, clean it, do some maintenance by the book i.e clean your air filter,
That should at least show you how to take the tank off, where the air box is, what it looks like, what the filter looks like, where the carbs are, what they look like, etc etc etc, its the best way to learn.

Another good way of learning is doing the basics,
    Oil Change,
    Chain adjusting,
    Air filter cleaning,
    Radiator reserve tank top up,
    Maybe even some mods,
I have added an accesory socket to my bike with a flush mounted 3.5mm female headphone jack connect to a 3M cable that runs from the bars to the glove box so I can plug my ipod/phone in on a long strip, have it on charge while riding and been able to listen to it, by just plugging my headphones into the jack.

Like the idea for the Ipod though. Could mount an case inside the fairing.

Ill take some photos to explain what I mean, the flush mount isnt tidy its just there for the time being, as im away over Easter in the Mt Cook area for 5 days so alot of music and a charged phone can only be a good idea.
I usually use my cellphone for my music been a smart phone and what have you, but the headphone jack since the other day doesnt seem to work so until I get that sorted out I will just use the ipod, The only thing that has me concerned is weather proofing the actual ipod/phone/mp3 player or w.h.y, I have since set about trying to make the compartment as water resistant as possible, and unless the bike has been sitting on its side stand for 8 hours in the pissing down rain, its 100% dry.. If it has been sitting, its just a few drips of water, so I think ill use the old zip lock bag method.

Somebody mentioned what if I come off the bike and the headphones are plugged in, or I get off the bike and forget to unplug,
I have mounted a headphone jack with a threaded body to a piece of plastic and have mounted it on the bolt that holds the clutch lever assembly to the clip on, so it just hands down, that means its on the left hand side of the bike, so If I do get off the bike and dont unplug, no worries it will just give a bit of a tug in my heads and it will come free without pulling the bike over or ripping out the jack,
And in the event I do come off, god forbid I dont, then I think I will have bigger things to worry about other than sore ears from headphones.

Blah blah blah blah.. Kinda dragged on a bit there didnt I..
