The most exciting thing was all the rattling when you started it cold.
That was BOTY in Two Wheels in '84 (or was it '85).

Yeah, the Hornet 900 was my immediate thought.

Don't get me wrong I think they're brilliant bikes, but I just found riding them kinda dull. They do everything you'd put down on paper that you'd want a bike to do, but they just seem to lack a soul.

You can have fun on a crap bike, because it's crap. e.g. (and these are from personal experience) Wondering if your Hyosung will get you to your destination, or if the GN250 you're riding will make it up that hill.

Oh and most boring engine award goes to a GPX/Ninja 250

I've never owned a bike that bored me because they were all what I wanted at the time. I did see my old bike, a CB400 Super Four, described once as 'the blandest of bland bikes' though.

I'd have to disagree, however it's the Camry of "big" bikes for sure.
The CB400 superfour has to take the cake for me.
Did everything well for what it was, but I just never wanted to go quick, or have any fun. The only bike I have ridden where I feel like lighting a ciggy in the helmet to pass time.

Cant think you are in your right mind!!
SV1000 are not boring;, they have a great v twin motor, sound great with the right cans, and handle ok too.
There are alot more boring bikes than this model.

Next thing you will be saying Ducati's and GSXR's & R1's are boring.

    Wsated too much time already.

    What the fuck?

    They're both brilliant.

If you need horsepower to not be bored then you haven't learned to ride a bike properly yet.

If she has only ridden a limited selection of bikes then I can understand her selection.

Remember this isn't a poll on the most boring bikes that exist, just of the ones ridden or owned.

The most boring bike I've ever ridden, and this is entirely subjective, because it was a matter of it not being what I expected, was a Twin Cam 96 Street Bob. It looked the part and I was excited when I got on it, but 100m down the road my grin was fading, and 10km later I looked like this:

Big block Harleys have lost their soul since the Twin Cam 88s.

Whereas I think the 103 in the Touring Chassis is the best they have made yet.

I've only ridden a Softail Standard 103 and a Fat Bob 103 with a stage 2 tune. Does either of those have a Touring Chassis?

Agree... I loved my Scorpio, throwing it around was a hoot...

Maybe it is more to do with the roads... My S40 was as boring as on straight roads (SH1 out south of Auckland for example should have a warning sign about boring), so is my GSX, but on a nice road.... they both put smile on my face, heck most bikes would, no?

I'm keeping mine forever, and when it wears out I'll buy another one.

I think it's more to do with mindset. I really enjoy sitting on a Scorpio on the highway watching the world trickle past, abandoning the obligation to go faster than everything else just because I'm on a motorbike.

Flat bars and Metzeler Lasertecs are prerequisites to properly enjoying a Scorpio, though, I've found.
