    Honda CB1000

Any past or present owners of the CB1000 Big One on here and willing to offer an opinion on this bike?

    What are they like?
What 18" tyres did you / do you run?
Its a heavy bike does it chew through tyre and chains?
Any know/common faults or problems with them?

I like the look of them and am thinking of adding one to the garage.

GSX1400 for similar money? No competition.

White Trash had a nice one from recent memory, maybe he'll come along and tell us about it.

I read where the cb 1000 had more modern suspension they look nice dont they like the cb 1100 r look,

Having said that i really like the look of the suzuki bandits 1200 cc 0r 1400 esp have diffrent looks'

i rekon your spoilt for choice just ride both of them on test rides , i have always had hondas but suzukis.

Are great netural handlers and there are alot of this model out there you got get parts and spares much more likey.

I have feeling suzukis have more grunt also esp if they make 1400 god dam pull tree stumps out with that sucker.

    Where?

They were probably sold for similar money when they were new, but that was a while ago.

    Here's a tidy CB1000 at a dealer asking $4k. I haven't seen a GSX14 for under $6k that didn't look abused.

Wow that is cheap! Arsehole, you have me looking at my credit cards. Exceptional for the dollars.

World's most boring bike. A Bandit 600 is a more rewarding ride. Litre bike expectations with 600 performance and CB450 dynamics.

I remember the huge build up and the giant "Meh" from the Press and Buying Public well.

This is a much better idea.

I should red you, that's the bike that caught my attention.

It's nice isn't it - I think the modern pipe that everybody strips off and replaces with after market really suits it.

I emailed them tonight asking for high res closeup photo's. See how they look - but its a bit of a haul from Auckland to go for a test ride only to find I don't like the model.

Oh well will know by the end of the week I guess and it is a 4 day weekend, provided they are open on Easter Saturday.

Did the cans come off a late model Zook? Someone whipped the good uns off the trade first.
