I think you are totally missing the point of why so many non-muslims are concerned and against the spread of the Islamic faith- or more to the point, the spread of their idiotic followers doing just what you have written above.
Yes there are many religions in the world. Yes, many of them have killed in the name of their religion in the past. But for the most part now we all tolerate and respect each others freedom to make our own choices.
But only ONE religion today does not tolerate any other. Only ONE is actively promoting and acting on the ideal that if someone does not join your religion, then you should kill them. Only ONE religion is using terrorism to force others to convert..or die. When did a Hindu hijack and fly a passenger plane into a building. It wasn't a Mormon mob that stormed Christian churches in Egypt last year and killed the Christians. It wasn't Buddists or Methodists or Jews.
It's this total lack of tolerance and fairness in their views that is unacceptable to westerners. For example; the Muslims in the UK in that video are refusing to adopt the ways of their host. Even worse, they are demanding the host adopt their ways or quote "go to hell". On the flip side they will not tolerate any other religion in their Islamic nations.
You don't go to a Thai restaurant and expect Italian food and you certainly don't DEMAND they only serve Italian food.

heh, I'm fully aware of what you're talking about. I guess it's the turn of Islam to try to push it's agenda in the West... likely in response to the West pushing it's agenda in the East. Funny that the West takes the hump when the East starts demanding things. Stunning hypocrisy. Tolerated, you mean that they don't go out of their way to promote their views? They just don't hunt is packs as much as they used to, but there are deeply religious people that hang on to their teachings as if they were the law. I care not, that is there choice and I will defend their choice, even if it's shouting in people's faces.
When was the first time a Muslim hijacked a plane? When was the last time a Hindu killed a Sikh? When was the last time someone of no denomination hijaked a plane or killed another person of no denomination? When was the last time a Taliban soldier walked into an American town and wasted some locals? The actions of a few damning the many and all because they share a religion. Piss poor really, but hey, it makes great telly and gives us someone to hate and fear.
The funny thing is, I've been into Thai and Italian restaurants and they have been gracious enough to cook me plain food (shit taste buds), but yeah, demanding things ain't the way to go, yet the French have demanded that Muslim remove their face coverings, but that's ok, because they are Muslim.
We can go around in circles, but as you mention, until we all hit that live and let live point it'll never happen and there is TV to be made and papers to be sold.

Buddhists, we should all be buddhists. very happy, accepting people.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Fair enough and it's good you put your opinions forward here instead of just resorting to abuse as some tend to do if someone doesn't agree with them.
Mind you I have to point out that the French are only demanding they remove their face covers while in France Like the Thai restaurant, it should be able to ban people smoking, wearing gang patches or any form of motorcycle apparel for that matter while in their premises.
The old saying - when in Rome do as the romans do...drink wine, each grapes and have orgies with slave girls. I see nothing wrong with that myself.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
Meh, we're all speshul in our own way
It's the demanding thing I don't agree with. I understand why, but in the same token what's the harm in allowing people to cover their faces? Especially if it's of religious significance. It's not much more than a scaremongering tactic really. As mentioned earlier, it's hardly as though the whole country are going to turn to Islam... we're talking about the French here. It's just another freedom gone. It ain't like these people are just guests in the country, they're living there full time (potentially 2nd/3rd/4th generation) and should be able to cover their faces if they want imho.
Oh I see, bring wine, unmodified wine and orgies with slave girls in to sway the argument... but unless the ugly ones have their faces covered I'll not be changing my opinion any time soon

[QUOTE=Bassmatt;1130294912]Sorry - that is not part of their prescribed doctrine..and again..individual fuckwits who do these dirty deeds are sheltered by higher-order individual fuckwits and not organisational decree or law as in the case of islam.
Fucking little boys is behaviour attributable to homosexual and other perverts...be they catholic priests, prisoners, mormon missionaries...or bikers.
Where is it stated that the "hierachy" condones this behaviour..? You could reasonably say - hierachy chose in cases recently revealed...to not punish the offenders...can't say they condone kiddy fucking...and these incidents were as you'll recall, all past history going back 30,40 years! In many of them it is debateable what motivate the victims to come forward....cash?
But we're both shooting at the same targets here Bassmatt - I have no time for these religious structures anymore..and kiddy fiddlers of any creed deserve to have evil inflicted on their privates.
does this mean we will have to stop calling them englisher bastards pomes and start calling them pois![]()
[QUOTE=Trade_nancy;1130297112]The prescribed doctrine no, but when the rules were made by the Catholic Church initially, about men only allowed to be priests and priests not being able to marry women, (unlike some other religions) the scene was set for future offending.
