Won't know everything till Ian's had a look, but AFAIK just some new front pads, rear wheel bearings, fork seals, and possibly a bit of work on the muffler mounting, along with the new battery I got for it but won't bother fitting till I can actually ride it.

I was playing at the end of Colombo street watching so many bikers heading up, or coming back down, the hill. Was rather jealous ...

Tell me about this Bobber build, I rather fancy a nice home made bobber

Could be tempted, depends on what I get up to on Sat (maybe Methven, maybe rellies) and what the visiting rellies feel like on Sun.
    Where were you thinking?

I'm keen - heading to Methven on Saturday - should do some work on the house this weekend being a long one and all - but if I take two days biking, I've still got two days for the house... Any suggestions for where to go?
You only need two tools in life:
Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't.
WD-40 if it doesn't move and it should.

Brute force and ignorance always prevails.
Failure comes from too little brute force, or
    too little ignorance.

How many qudzillion miles has it done to need all that work,?
God its not even a old bike?
I would be sorely dissapointed to have to do that much to a ride all at the same time considering its age
What sort of maintenance have you done since owning it?
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.

It may not actually need all of that, I found the folks who claimed it needed all that work eminently untrustworthy, which is why I was saying I don't know what it needs till Ian has taken a look. It'll definitely be needing the new pads, as Ian let me know when he serviced it about 1500-2000km ago just after buying it that they were running low, but aside from the battery I've got no idea whether the rest is true, or an unscrupulous mechanic trying to drum up some more work.

From memory it's got about 23000km on the clock, and as far as maintenance goes, I've had it serviced a couple of times, had new tyres, sprockets and chain fitted, and other than that just me doing routine stuff like oiling the chain, checking pressures, and replacing a blown bulb.
