Thanks Matt for taking me out of my comfort zone again, very enjoyable ride particularly the two near drownings and the couple of ks on the big boulder field - no seriously, loved it - just what I needed - still amazes me what that old girl will put with and she just keeps on tractoring along !

Feck, just been out today and last Friday with the CRF230.
Back to doing stuff that requires reg and bigger distances next two weekends.

In recent months, Environment Canterbury's Park Rangers have noted an increase in improper vehicle activity in the park. This includes people driving 4WDs in areas that they are not allowed in, and unregistered trail bikes using public access roads, which is contrary to Park policy and the Land Transport Act.

over the next few months Environment Canterbury will be working in conjunction with the New Zealand Police to reinforce the national road rules within park boundaries.

Think of it this way - at least they are trying to solve the problem (they have a mandate too) rather than just shutting us all out.

Play the game - don't go where your not suppose to (there are bugger all areas we can't go as trail bikes - MTB tracks is pretty much it), don't rip up new tracks on the stop banks and don't be a wanker towards other users. Still plenty of fun left after that. Through one of my road improvement projects I've had a bit to do with flood protection over the last couple of years and we will never win if the banks get stuff. The risk to Chch is simply too big that they will ignore it. This is why there are major upgrade projects underway and continuing for the next few years.

The last thing we want is to be completely locked out like is happing in other areas around the country.

    Cheers R

It's this coming Monday the 4th June 2012. Queens Birthday holiday.

Might bring a cut lunch to eat in there somewhere. Now where's flip and his gas cooker and Bacon.
