We must have been just ahead of you SF as passed that group too.
We had a coffee at the cafe /fuel stn on your right just after the Te Anga turnoff, didn't go right out to Kawhia.

It was a good run indeed. And a first one on the new bike too. Agree with Big Al. Too much grovel around now. Especially dangerous when you come into shaded corners and can't see anything. Still great weather, great roads and very good company. I spent most of my time enjoying the 1098 in front of me playing out some nice exhaust tunes![]()
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

Should've texted me earlier. Phill and I left about 10am. Went thru Scotsman Valley rd, Matamata, Kaimais, Ngongataha, Arapuni, Mangatautari, back home. About 4hrs. A good ride, especially, with my homemade backrest on the bike. No sore tender tailbone. What a difference a back support makes. Negates the wind blast on my chest.

After having had a knacked back, believe me, anything that takes the pressure off my tailbone is a godsend.
It cost nothing but an hour in the shed. Certainly makes a days ride more enjoyable.
