    Wherever you got the link from had attendance within the code, I went to the calendar appointment itself, and used that (from the address bar).

    Your in for an interesting day - in a nutshell;
    Ride through the fabulous Waipoura Forest (home of Tane Mahita - the worlds largest living Kauri, it's huge!)
    Probably have a lunch break at Opononi then head back towards home via Twin Bridges (great bit of road provided there's no roadworks)
    All roads will be tarsealed with plenty of opportunity to fuel up - as long as you can do at least 200km on a tank. As mentioned we'll be heading north by around 8.30ish and could be back around mid-late afternoon but if you need to head back home early, consider joining us partway.

    There's usually some kind of story to be told after one of these rides just ask Qkkid or DMNTD.

    Depends on whether Steve loses his wallet again

    No seriously, it'll be about a 6.5hrs in the saddle with probably about 1.5hr stop for lunch at Opononi plus fuel stops so somewhere between 9 and 10 hrs away from Auckland.

    Fuel breaks are usually 15mins (dependent on group size) and we fill up at:

    • Dairy Flat
      Dargaville or Maungatapere (depending on direction)
      Kiakohe
      Dargaville or Maungatapere (depending on direction)
      Wellsford
      Dairy Flat

    There will be other leg stretches as well at a number of turn offs while the group re-groups.

    I'm usually over it by the time we get back to Wellsford and take a bit longer there to recover and let the arse stop hurting - but by that stage the group heads their seperate ways anyhow, some go SH1 others take SH16 home.

    Well I did Twin Bridges on weekend and it is getting better, but the single lane from the bridge on the south side (Whangarei Side) is being widened after slips with the rain so is quite messy.

    Also lot of tractors have been in the fields and tracked mud onto the road, has been washed down a lot however this is still some dodgey places you need to be careful on, more so on south side between bridge and Titoki.

    From Dargaville, there was a number of sections that have been getting seal repairs on the way towards the tree upto Kaihu and also although hoping its been repaired as you go up in the hills after Kaihu before going into the forest there was a strip about 1k long they had ripped up ( but this is about a month old info as haven't been back that way in a while) which was for anybody other than mountain goat a real mongrel to go along as it sloped towards the ditch.
