no humble pie mate.... 80% of terdme bikes are over priced and no matter what bike it is 233138 miles is still a shit load, looks like he's done a bit of work around the heart(motor) of the beast (all the easier stuff anyway) , whats next pistons, bearings etc

but then again it is a GS so eat ya pie

My first G/S had done only a little less that that at 350,000 when I got it.

At least he has been honest about it. Most people seem to put in the five digits on the speedo & leave you to find out yourself if that was 75,000ks, 175,000, 275,000 or 375,000. That's where carjam can help.

Interestingly at last WoF the inspector refused to put in the true mileage - he was only interested in what was showing on the odo. Given that I can adjust that at any time....

I'm a little concerned that I think those yellow bullbars look kinda cool.

No denying.... it's a cool bike, although I've seen coolerer examples The k's freaked me out a bit though, however I'm informed by a couple of reliable sources....and Padmie... that it's o.k. to have that many k's on em.

thats the point. If it has got those ks some major work had already been done...when it was done and what was done when will be the determining factor of its value now

A tidy mark 1 Zephyr with those ks is still a tidy mark 1 Zephyr. It's not mint & doesn't say it is. To be honest I didn't see the $5K buy now & was thinking in the $3.5 - $4k mark so I'll eat humble apple crumble & admit it is overpriced for that price.

Phil your R80GS (which used to be owned by a pal of mine) is one of the nicest / desirable (with your detailing / mods) that I know of

Living vicariously through this site as I'm still unable to ride pending an operation to repair the broken clavicle sustained on the way to the DB

Do you want to buy it ? It's been sitting in the shed without much use since I got the DR.

Feels like iv'e had it for ever and a bit bored with it. For the sort of off roady type adv riding were doing the DR is better. I like building projects and ive done all sorts to it. Rebuilt pretty much everything.!! I had thought of doing a full on long travel monolever project but i dont know whether I would want to use mine as a donor. May be time for something different.
